jip en janneke is a series of children's books in the netherlands illustrated by fiep westendorp. i first became, well...obsessed with them while visiting friends in amsterdam. they had jip en janneke mugs, plates, hairbrushes, everything! i needed to get some for myself and so they directed me to hema, which is like the target of holland. i got two small glasses [one of which was broken by customs, ugh] a sandwich shaped tupperwear and little candies and pencils. while visiting last year i got about 10$ in j&j postcards, magnets, juice boxes, and 2 books written in dutch that i swear i'm going to learn to read someday! i love holland so much and if i ever end up living there for an extended period of time, jip and janneke tattoos are surely in my future.
