i don't like new york city. i wouldn't say that i hate it, but when i'm there i always feel out of control, and not in a good way. unfortunately i miss a lot of great exhibitions like the stefan sagmeister and michel gondry shows at deitch. boo. hopefully once the warm weather comes around i'll get it in gear to go see the new show at the moma - color chart: reinventing color, 1950 to today. it features artists who 'assign color decisions to chance, a readymade source, or an arbitrary system.' i love color theory so this is right up my alley! the moma website has the exhibition online, but getting to see this bas jan ader piece in person could be worth going for.
i'll probably make a point to head over to the whitney biennial as well, although i haven't been especially taken by any of the images that i've seen from it so far.
