after watching the
helvetica documentary this weekend i'm trying my own type designing skills out by finally signing up with
fontstruct. fontstruct is free and lets you create fonts out of geometrical shapes, which are arranged in a grid pattern, like tiles or bricks. once you're done building it generates high-quality true type fonts that you can use in any mac or windows application. i'm still working on my first, if it comes out well i'll post it!
and then there's also the
fontifier which turns your own handwriting into a mac and windows compatible font for only 9$. too bad my handwriting looks like chicken-scratch! here is my handwriting font preview. i think that it might need a little perfecting!
