new hobbies/new friends

back in december i got a small tabletop rigid heddle loom and i finally set it up last week! it took me about 6 hours/3 movies to get the warp wound and dressed and perfectly tensioned. whew! by the end of it i said "enough! i want to spend the weekend with friends at museums! and eating donuts at the beach! and stuffed full of arepas! and watching 'dirty dancing' for the 500th time!" so now i've had this fresh white warp staring at me from the corner of the living room for about a week and i've been waiting for the right moment to sit down and get to work... and i just came across these beautiful weavings from new friends and that did it. they've really inspired me to get a move on and start on a new project this weekend!
